How Gas Absorption Cooling works?

Absorption Cooling first appeared in the mid of 1800s and most commonly found in large industrial buildings. Today, with greater advancement of technology, Gas Absorption is now available for residential, commercial and industrial complex alike. With cooling capacities ranging from 5 ton to 3000 ton, Gas Absorption can service from residential apartment complex to power plants and manufacturing plants.

Absorption Cooling operates similar to conventional electric vapour compression chillers with some distinct differences. Absorption Technology uses thermal compressor instead of conventional air-conditioning compressor system.

What is Gas-Absorption Cooling?

Gas Absorption systems use distilled water and non-toxic lithium bromine (LiBr) or ammonia (NH₃). Unlike conventional eletric air-conditioning equipment, which uses harmful chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), gas absorption systems eliminates this component completely, making it the most sustainable cooling solution.

Gas Absorption Water-Cooled solution uses lithium bromine (LiBr) as refrigerant and distilled water as absorbent. This solution would require cooling tower and constant water supply to complete the system. Gas Absorption Air-Cooled solution uses ammonia (NH₃) as refrigerant and water as absorption. This solution does not require cooling tower.
